Q&Q Card Game Clock: Soccer (Model CG-002 / CARD G.C. No. 03) Vintage 1980s Ultra-Slim Handheld LCD Electronic Game – Boxed with Polystyrene Tray [Tested & Operational]

An authentic, vintage Japanese credit-card style LCD handheld game manufactured in Japan by C.B.M. Corporation (Citizen Watch Group) under the celebrated Q&Q brand in the early 1980s. Designed during the golden age of LCD gaming alongside Nintendo's Game & Watch, the Card Game Clock series features an ultra-thin pocketable profile, integrated digital alarm clock, rear fold-out metallic desk kickstand, and real-time arcade soccer action.

Functional Status & Testing:

  • Tested & Fully Playable: Powered with a standard SR44 / LR44 button cell. The LCD displays clock digits (13:00 28), score tally (0 00), animated football players, and goalposts. Control buttons (Left, Right, Level, Start/Select) respond accurately and speaker audio beeps cleanly.
  • Battery Compartment: Clean terminal contacts free of corrosion; original matching orange battery cover is fully intact.
  • Rear Stand: Original wire kickstand present and firmly clicks into position for desk display.

Collector Transparency & Condition Details:

  • LCD Screen: Features a small, localized dark shadow / bleed along the bottom edge of the LCD display (characteristic of vintage 40-year-old liquid crystals). The central gameplay area, players, ball, and upper clock numbers remain crisp, high-contrast, and completely visible.
  • Box Condition: Original Japanese blue outer box with internal white polystyrene tray. The front of the box has authentic period wear and a blackened marker area where an old retail shop price was touched up, as shown clearly in the dedicated condition photos.
